How to object

The quickest way to object is by emailing dcplanning@chichester.gov.uk.

You can list more than one application in the same objection but must include all reference numbers.

You must add your address in order for CDC to post your objection.

You can add attachments, such as photographs, to support your objection.

Your comments will be added to the CDC portal once received.

Emotional outcries don’t impress the planners; Well-argued facts do.

Consider:

  • The existing traffic infrastructure – one road in, one road out.
  • The overwhelmed medical facilities and emergency services.
  • Inadequate sewage and water drainage systems
  • The flood risk with developments proposed in low lying flood plains.
  • Endangered wildlife – using animal corridors for development.
  • The lack of employment opportunities in the area.
  • The loss of eco tourism and its impact on the local economy.

150 houses

This application just appeared on yet another green field site opposite Birdham Stores for 150 dwellings and a "community park" . This brings the total CURRENT applications to over 800 just for the Western end of the Manhood Peninsula.

To say what you think about this and other urbanisation

65 houses

Bracklesham Lane, Bracklesham

This application for 65 houses on yet another green field site could lead to substantial urbanisation. Note roadway on plan to facilitate access to larger site and possibly linkup  with Barratts site in Church Road East Wittering. Could lead to more than 800 houses eventually.

100 houses

Clappers Lane, Earnley

Application was refused by CDC on very sound grounds. Developer appealed and that appeal has been upheld by the Inspectorate on grounds that will appall local residents. Earnley Parish Council and local residents did everything thy could but sadly democracy in this arena is "histoire"

70 houses (226)

Church Road, East Wittering

Application refused by CDC. Developer appealed and won the appeal so expect a full application for 70 new houses to be, probably, followed by a further 156 in due course.

280 Houses

Church Road, East Wittering

Barratts have taken the next step in developing this green field by lodging an application for 45 sheltered houses.  This is a cynical precursor for the bigger application for 280 houses outlined in their agents (Henry Adams) planning statement. This heralds the start of a very heated debate.

30 houses

Earnley Concourse, Earnley

Application 19/02493/OUT was refused by CDC but went to appeal which was upheld so 30 more houses will be built in this conservation area.

Small holiday park

piggery hall lane

An application for change of usage from current green field agricultural use to tourist accommodation and provision of shepherd huts with associated works has been lodged with CDC. This application replaces an earlier one but this time the scope to set an unstoppable precedent is immeasurable and very dangerous for our area.
